The Department of Water & Sewer Utilities experience a major water main break this morning on a large transmission pipe. There was a massive loss of water that created a significant pressure drop in the system.  Consequently, there may be discoloration of the water throughout the City today.  However, the water is safe to use.  We anticipate the repair being completed today.
